Originally by: San Severina Ok, you're in FW.
Now start paying attention, learn, use Dotlan or similar & learn the region, learn the pipes & study back ways - entrances & exits of the active (frontline systems).
Start working on your FW NPC standings by getting familiar with FW Missions, run them when you can.
Look for quiet times to move ships & other essentials to a lowsec base of operations. Establish Jump Clones at same lowsec hubs.
Get a hisec market alt setup in your case in Jita.
Start making yourself familiar with the major FW Corps on your team, get in any fleets that will have you, make sure your overview is setup correctly & you have a working Mic. Have a range of ships ready to use at a moments notice so you can fill any requirements an FC might have. Short range/long range, nano/ tank, fast tackle/ bait/DPS/Stealth frigs thru to BS. (learn to scout in a stealthy- make dscan your friend, learn fleet jargon by getting in fleets)
Keep comms clear, don't get excited at your first gank & blurt all over comms like a noob. Keep your cool. Be prepared to lose ships, insure T1. Be ready, know your dmg types, learn to fit for a situation, discuss fits, learn, learn , learn.
Get familiar with the FW Kill Boards, these are a wealth of info about what is going down, where & who did what to who. Also it will give you valuable intel on ship fits, what ammo etc. etc. The KB should be visited regularly.
Imo you need EFT or EvE HQ - it's an insanely valuable tool to get the best out of your fits for your character, all pilots are different & there are so many variables, use one of these API fitting tools to learn what's best for you, also helps with training direction.
Missy Lorelai once put it better than I ever could so I'll roughly quote him - "Eve PVP is all about being in the right place at the right time, with the right ship ready to go. Forward thinking Pilots have ships stashed at strategic locations along with jump clones so they can take advantage of a situation at a moments notice." Having ships ready to roll, fitted & loaded, with jump clones at stations is invaluable, even if you don't need to jump clone, you don't want to be messing around fitting a BC while there's a local spike & intel is calling for backup. By the time you get there local will be spamming GF's.
Make your Bookmarks, this is very important, make strategics off all the gates, safes, strats of all stations, quick warp BM's off gates & stations, bookmark, bookmark, bookmark. In lowsec a good set of bookmarks & knowing where they are will save your a$$ & get you many, many kills.
Remember you are playing to have fun, be patient & learn & faction war can be very rewarding. It's a steep learning curve at first but once you get setup & familiar with the players & surrounds it's a blast.
Have Fun out there

What a fantastic reply. Superb.
